Client had some initial architectural drawings but it didn't quite meet the family's requirements. We reconfigured the layout to accommodate a more open plan feel. They required the ground floor to be completely remodelled including a new stairs, and also for the garage to be converted in a study room. They also wanted their driveway redone.
We gutted the entire ground floor to its basic structure, removing some walls, and inserting new walls.
A steel beam and two goal posts had be be installed due to the width of the new structural opening. This was a challenging build, with removal of existing support that included precast concrete and a steel beam. As the access was narrow, along with a sloping drive, we had to use a large crane to lower the new beam into position, this allowed for the insertion of 2 steel support posts which was then installed on 2 concrete pad-stones.
The entire ground floor was electrically rewired, and a new heating system was installed along with a new kitchen. On the first floor the bathroom and shower room was completely refurbished. We also installed new drainage at the front of the house, following that we laid a new driveway.
